Character Development

Northeast Elementary promotes positive character development using the Great Expectation Life Principles along with the city of Owasso Character model.  Students are recognized weekly at our school-wide assembly after they earn a "Character Award."  Character awards are given by faculty and staff to students who demonstrate exceptional character.
 
Below is a list our the 2017-2018 Character Words of the Month:
 
September:
Determination- Purposing to accomplish right goals at the right time, regardless of the opposition
 
October:
Dependability- Fulfilling what I consented to do, even if it means unexpected sacrifice
 
November:
Wisdom- Seeing and responding to life situations from a perspective that transcends my current circumstances
 
December:
Compassion- Investing whatever is necessary to heal the hurts of others
 
January:
Initiative- Recognizing and doing what needs to be done before I am asked to do it
 
February:
Honesty- Being truthful in what I say and do
 
March:
Orderliness- Arranging myself and my surroundings to achieve greater efficiency
 
April:
Creativity- Approaching a need, a task, or an idea from a new perspective
 
May:
Availability- Making my schedule and priorities secondary to the wishes of those I serve
