I am Teressa Blair and I teach Pre-K at Northeast Elementary I have taught for 36 years. I taught kindergarten and Pre-K and 35 of those years have been in Owasso. The thing that brings me the most Joy is just those little faces. Every day I get to see those little faces and spend time if you can sit down with a four and five year old do it because they're hilarious and they don't mean to be I don't mean to be but they are so hilarious and I get to smile and laugh everyday and that's the thing that brings me the most Joy but I can also say where I am in my career now many years down the road the thing that also brings me joy is my grown-up students and I follow them and I see them get married and have their children and start their careers and that also is bringing me a lot of joy is seeing them as grown-ups. An outstanding teacher never stops learning number one and it's been very hard for me because I am terrified of technology and Technology has been a big part in recent years of learning in the classroom so I think you have to keep learning if you're students are going to keep learning you need to keep learning. I feel like that's very important. I also feel like that a good teacher listens. If you listen to your students they tell you what they need so you listen hard and you find out what they need. You listen to your administrators and you listen to other teachers because they're full of wisdom and you can learn. I learn so many things from the brand new teachers they have such fun and new ideas and I learned from them. I think being a good listener is a big part of being a good teacher as well. I thought a lot about this especially with my being ready to retire in May looking back over 35 years in Owasso and I think the thing the best word I can come up with this is blessed.  Because I feel like I've just been blessed to be here number one just surrounded by great Educators in Owasso. I feel like they have taught me so much they're not just smart they're not just professional they're not just creative but they're just good good people and I feel like they've made me better. I'm a better teacher I'm a better person because I taught at Owasso and as a mom I'm just so appreciative of what my children received in Owasso Public Schools as well so blessed is the best word I can come up with. I am Teresa Blair I will forever be an Owasso Ram.
